We run mentoring schemes enabling students to interact on a regular basis with practice architects in relation to their course work.
Our architects help with all aspects of student projects and provide advice and guidance on the reality of studying and working in architecture.
Mr Steven Parkinson, Head of Design and Engineering at Archbishop Holgate’s School commented:
“The expertise, enthusiasm and passion of Leonardo is inspirational to our students.”
We provide career seminars to schools, sharing information with them about a career in architecture.
“Thank you so much for your help with our Careers Convention, you did a fantastic job and I have had very positive responses from pupils as well as staff.” – Representative from St Peter’s School, York
We have developed a work experience programme, available to students (aged 16 – 18) who may be interested in a career in architecture and design.
Since our programme began in 2006, we have hosted multiple students per year, offering them the opportunity to work in our busy practice, and to experience architecture and learn what is involved.
We recently hosted an exceptionally talented student from St Peter’s School, who joined our practice for one week. The pupil was able to spend time with experts across all disciplines within the practice. He has since been accepted to attend Oxford University, to study Iconic Design.
MOCK UNIVERSITY INTERVIEWS
DWA Architects help students prepare for university, by conducting mock interviews.
We have helped individuals secure places at various universities including Cambridge, Bath and The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College of London.
