Wentworth Court, Cheltenham (Arle House)

About this project

Cheltenham’s first dementia-only nursing home.

On behalf of our client Precious Homes, DWA Architects teamed up with the construction team, Wynbrook Ltd, along with our sister Company, Ward Consulting’s Structural Engineering team, to create a new two-storey nursing home extension and full refurbishment, at Arle House, Cheltenham.

The 62 bed care home, Wentworth Court, is a thoughtfully-designed, high-quality home, which incorporates the latest design features to support people living with dementia.

First impressions of the home will be of its light and contemporary feel. The stunning central reception and café area offers views to the central courtyard garden while the floor to ceiling windows flood the building with natural light.

The extension provides a modern addition to the existing building and has created a new kitchen, laundry, reception, manager’s office, café, stores and wetrooms.

The external areas are paved with modern stone, and the ground floor bedrooms have patio doors giving direct access to their own patio areas, whilst the first floors have bedrooms with balconies.

Wentworth Court focuses on the small details that define the difference between excellent and exceptional – enabling the home to provide exceptional levels of care in a unique environment.
