Silver Lodge, Donisthorpe

About this project

2004 – Shortlisted for Pinders Healthcare Design Awards

Silver Lodge was opened in 2003 by Leslie Silver OBE, former Chairman of Leeds United who the building is named after.

It is a self contained luxury 40 room extension to the original nursing home which provides residential and nursing care for elderly Jewish residents.

The unit was built to replace beds lost through the comprehensive refurbishment of the main building and is sympathetic to the colour and texture of the materials used to the existing function suite and synagogue.

The unit is essentially self contained and can be operated independently if required. As a charity the view of development is long term and environmental, operating and maintenance issues were a high priority.
