Coleg Harlech Campus, Wales

About this project

Coleg Harlech Campus provides liberal arts adult education to enable adults to fulfil their potential by providing vocational education and training.

The Cambria Centre has been created to change the identity of the college campus as a centre for community facilities. The halls of residence have been sold to an adjacent site and a new 56 bed residential block is proposed.

The educational facilities are enhanced by demolishing much of the existing recently built accommodation and replacing it with a new high tech facility over 3 floors. The most dramatic part of the scheme is a link building which connects the buildings at the top of the escarpment to the buildings at the bottom.

Sedum roofs, solar shading, grey water harvesting, renewable resources, carbon neutral materials and a coach lay-by are all elements which have been incorporated to achieve BREEAM Excellent, which is required for grant funding.
