About this project

2011 – Shortlisted for Pinders Healthcare Design Awards

In 2010, Enable Care opened their first home for residents following acquired brain injury and with on going cognitive, communicative or behavioural needs, requiring slower stream rehabilitation.

The main objective was for the creation of two distinct and fully autonomous 8 bed units in a domestic setting which fosters a sense of pride for residents.

On the first floor, eight beds are dedicated for people with complex medical and physical needs.

At ground floor, 8 self contained apartment rooms are intended for people with cognitive, communicative or behavioural needs who require dedicated care.

The gardens all around the house have been designed for ease of access to and around them and incorporating a full range of areas designed to help stimulate the senses and promote rehabilitation through gentle physical activity.
