Aberford Hall, Leeds

About this project

The construction of a 42 bed nursing home comprising a mix of single & double bedrooms all with ensuite facilities was completed in the Autumn of 1992, within the Roundhay area of conservation.

This was the first care home designed by DWA Architects to be built.

The nursing home was purpose designed to meet the requirements of our client to provide full care facilities for its elderly and disabled residents.

The building was carefully planned to fit on the site with due regard to the surrounding residential setting and selection of materials to blend into the conservation area location.

The home has since been extended to remove a number of the double rooms, creating new single rooms with full ensuites.

Some of the facilities in Aberford Hall include landscaped gardens, hairdressing and activity rooms for residents use and enjoyment.
