Planning approval for housing development in Blackrod, Bolton
In July 2015, DWA Architects were appointed by PSP Bolton LLP to undertake a residential feasibility study on this former recycling centre site on Black Horse street, Blackrod.
The approved proposal was for 14 (3 bedroom) semidetached houses, a typology in high demand for this area. The scheme was designed to be as sympathetic to the area as possible, retaining public amenities such as village seating and providing new a bus shelter. Also providing public car parking on site to improve the accessibility to local businesses for the community. Located adjacent to the site is an existing care home, our proposal will also provide parking and improved ambulance accessibility. Overall having a positive impact on the surrounding area and existing street scene.
