Having moved our York office earlier this year, and our Manchester office at the end of last year, we are now feeling the expected benefits in terms of accessibility for ourselves and our Clients, and improved working environments enabling more interaction between design teams and disciplines.
We continue to build on our expertise in residential care with further interaction with care sector professionals in the UK, Europe, the US and China. China continues to present good opportunities for us and our Clients, as we are now currently involved with 4 live projects. The first of these, located in Shunde, Guangzhou, opens its doors to the first 121 residents during October. This project was won in 2013 following an International Design Competition, and will accommodate 750 senior people with severe and terminal care needs, with a further 450 independent and assisted living apartments.
Our involvement with the Alzheimer Society and other Dementia Care related charities is proving to be an interesting diversion from our day job with the Three Peaks Challenge and Soap Box race as notable recent events. It is interesting to see that our newsletter is becoming a bulletin board for these events as well as notices posted on behalf of our Clients relating to the disposal of sites, etc. and we hope to see this continue.
We also continually raise the level of our networking, particularly in the UK, but also oversees, with more activity on social media, and greater attendance at meetings and conferences such as the Care Show at the NEC on the 10th and 11th October – we look forward to seeing you there!
